Although our face-to-face engagement activities were a little restricted this year, Have Your Say Bayside remained an important method for staying connected with you all. We published fewer projects than in 2019, but we had more visitors than ever! However, we are looking forward to resuming our face-to-face engagement activities once it is safe to do so.

Engaging during COVID-19

Despite the COVID-19 outbreak, Council had to continue planning for the future. We made some changes to our normal engagement processes to ensure that all our residents still had the opportunity to inform Council decision making. To keep the conversation going we maximised our digital platforms, offered phone and e-meetings, increased our advertising and completed letter box drops.

This year on Have Your Say...

...we published 39 projects and had over 32,000 site visitors!

1,200 of our visitors contributed their thoughts and ideas by completing surveys, dropping pins on a map, or submitting questions and comments. Other visitors read about our projects, viewed important documents, checked key dates and visited our Advocacy Hub.

Our most popular projects this year were our new Local Environmental Plan, #SaveOurBay (the campaign against cruise ships in Botany Bay), upgrades to Barton Park, and Greening Bayside.

Our information pages 'Connecting Communities during COVID-19' were also popular.

Have Your Say projects summary:
