Council is seeking feedback from local residents on the impacts of the trial closures of Bay Street, Brighton Le Sands.
Project background
In conjunction with Transport for NSW, Council trialled the temporary closure of Bay Street, Brighton Le Sands, between the Grande Parade and Moate Avenue across three weekends in February, and again for three weekends across May and June 2023.
The closure trials were undertaken to address broad community concern about the incidents of hooning and anti-social behaviour occurring in Brighton Le-Sands on weekends and to make our public places and roads safer.
Thank you to everyone who visited Bay Street, supported local businesses and provided feedback during the trial periods.
What is happening now?
Council and Transport for NSW will now evaluate the impact of the trial on residents, business trading, community access, traffic and the incidents of hooning and anti-social behaviour in the area.
Please share your experience of the trial closures via the options below.
