What we're doing

Bayside Council has developed a concept plan to upgrade Tindale Reserve in Carlton, to create a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy.

The design enhances recreation opportunities, providing a vibrant community space where people can relax, connect, and play. A key feature will be an exciting new larger playspace offering a fun refreshed and engaging environment for all ages.

Project highlights:

Key elements of the concept design include:

  • New larger playspace area, relocated from flood-affected land
  • Improved accessibility with additional paved paths to seating and picnic areas
  • New fencing at the boundary of Cumberland and Short Street
  • Re-turfing to part of the existing playspace following removal

Features of the play space include:

  • New equipment suitable for most ages, specifically for 2 to 12 years
  • New softfall rubber surfacing
  • Drinking fountain
  • New shade sails
  • A new picnic shelter and inclusive picnic setting
  • Renewed landscaping and all trees retained

We have two designs open for review:

  1. Full Reserve Upgrade – A comprehensive design for enhancing the entire reserve.
  2. Detailed Playspace Design – A focused design for the playspace area.

Have your say and share your feedback before 5 May 2025.
