The final design is here!
The wait is over! Following the first stage of community engagement, we've listened to the community and used your feedback to help shape the final design for the new Sir Joseph Banks Park Pump Track.
Working with specialist designers Common Ground Trails, we've developed a pump track that reflects what we heard from the community and creates an exciting destination for riders of all ages and abilities.
Now we'd love to hear what you think of the final design before construction begins.
About the project
The new pump track has been designed as an inclusive, welcoming and exciting space for riders of all skill levels.
The final design features four interconnected riding zones, allowing users to progress as their confidence and skills grow:
- Beginner Track – a fun and safe place to learn the basics.
- Intermediate Track – for riders ready to build confidence.
- Advanced Track – technical and extreme challenges for experienced riders looking to progress.
The tracks connect seamlessly, creating one integrated riding experience while encouraging progression, active recreation and skill development.
The design also includes:
- Landscaping and seating areas
- Improved pathways and accessibility
- Spectator area
- Spaces that encourage social connection and healthy outdoor activity.
Together, these features will transform the area into a vibrant community destination for recreation, learning and fun.
Which part of the design are you most looking forward to?
Although the design has now been finalised, we'd love to hear what you think.
Explore the plans and let us know, what feature you're looking forward to once it's built.
Your feedback will help us celebrate the project and understand what the community values most as we move towards construction.
