Community Walkshops

What is a walkshop?

Instead of sitting in a room to discuss your concerns, we are asking you to join us on a walk around the streets surrounding your local train station. On the walk, you will be able to share your experiences, where and why you feel unsafe or vulnerable and discuss your ideas for improvements.

Listening to your experience will give us a better understanding of your needs and concerns. Your feedback and insights will help shape trial interventions to help improve perceptions of safety in our community.

Council will host two walkshops at each of the three locations. One during the day, and one during the evening.

It is important that we hear from people of all ages, needs and backgrounds.

Who can join the walk?

All women, girls and gender-diverse people aged 13 and over. If you are aged between 13 and 15, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. To ensure everyone gets an opportunity to participate, groups will be restricted to a max of 20 persons.

The selected participants will receive a $25 gift voucher.

Council will also provide light refreshments.
