Project Update

Update from 24 Sep 2025 Council Meeting, Pg15

Community Engagement Outcome: Thank you to everyone who participated in the Linear Park engagement process. Your feedback played a vital role in shaping the future vision for the off-leash dog park.

Following community consultation and the review of all feedback received, Council has formally endorsed the proposed concept design. This decision was made at the Bayside Council Meeting, Wednesday, 24 September 2025. The project will now progress to the detailed design phase and necessary permit approvals with Sydney Water.

Project Background

Bayside Council is proposing a fenced off-leash dog park in Linear Park, Mascot, in response to strong community demand.

Linear Park is a well-used green space in a high-density area, and residents have asked for more recreational facilities. A recent petition called for a safe, enclosed space where dogs can exercise off-leash, separate from other park users.

The proposed site is at the park's eastern end, near Gardeners Road and O’Riordan Street. The area is approximately 62m x 13.5m, 825 sqm, and the length of the proposed fence is 95 lineal meters.
