Background

Bayside Council has received a request to name a new road and a new public walkway within the Pagewood Green development in Eastgardens.

The new road and walkway are located at 128 Bunnerong Road, the eastern lot north of Tingwell Boulevard. The site is owned by Karimbla Properties (No 39) Pty Ltd and is operated by the Meriton Group.

The proposed names for the road and public walkway must be endorsed by the Geographical Names Board (GNB) and abide by the GNB Place Naming Policy and NSW Address Policy and User Manual, as well as Council's Place Naming Policy.


Consultation with the local Aboriginal community

Council has sought input from the local Aboriginal community, including the Bayside First Nations Working Group (internal) and the Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group (community). The names of two respected Elders with a connection to the location were endorsed, Delma Davison and Les Davison (husband and wife). The Descendants of the Davisons were also consulted.

Proposed Walkway name: Davison Walkway
