The Botany Aquatic Centre has been serving the Bayside Community for over 50 years as a valued community recreational facility. Council understands the need to protect and improve our community recreational facilities, whilst we want to ensure that the Botany Aquatic Centre meets the needs of the local community, both now and in the future.

As a result, Council has recently renewed its interest in the centre, and is looking towards a program of upgrades to meet the growing needs of the local community. This is an important project and we will take the time to get it right.

The Botany Aquatic Centre is currently undergoing annual maintenance prior to its reopening on the 29 September 2018. We are also in the process of assessing the condition of the centre – an important step in the design process for upgrades – as well as exploring available funding options.

We understand the importance of community consultation and its ability to deliver better outcomes for the community. Council has identified that an opportunity to effectively plan a program of upgrades, is knowing what the local community wants to see retained, and what they want to see improved. Thereby, Council will be seeking community feedback as it considers how the facility could be upgraded.
