Background
Bayside Council is excited to have assumed management and operation of the Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre from 1 July 2023.
Council will provide free access to the Centre on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 July to welcome members and patrons back.
Please note: The Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre will be a cashless centre. All payments are to be made by card or direct debit.
We sincerely appreciate your patience during the transition and look forward to welcoming you to our Council-owned, managed and operated Centre.
What is happening with Learn-to-Swim?
Bayside’s Learn-to-Swim Program will commence on 17th July 2023. Enrolments are now open with preference in class times provided to Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre participants who were actively enrolled between March and June 2023.
The Bayside Council team have built a personalised Learn-to-Swim program tailored to the needs and cultural history of the Bayside community. Bayside Council is pleased to provide a 48-week program for children, adolescents and adults of all ages and abilities. Payment of fees will occur via fortnightly direct debit. Free swimming is also provided for all Learn-to-Swim students outside of your Learn to Swim class.

If you were formerly enrolled in the BlueFit Learn-to-Swim Program at Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre, you will be required to re-enrol for Council's program at the centre.
Please visit the Centre to confirm details, be provided with program information, terms and conditions and complete direct debit information. For all individuals and families who have contacted us or submitted an Expression of Interest for our Learn to Swim program, our staff will be in contact with you in the coming week to provide you with more information about enrolment, payment and start dates.
Our friendly staff will support you to ensure the BlueFit class levels you or your child(ren) were previously enrolled in aligns with the Bayside Council levels. Our priority is to ensure minimal disruption to all participants of the program and continued skill progression and development.
Health and Fitness Aquatic Memberships
Current Active Bluefit Multi Visit Pass Holders have the following options;
- Use their multi-visit pass at BlueFit’s Hurstville and Sans Souci Aquatic Centres or
- Receive a refund from BlueFit for the remaining balance on the multi visit pass.
If you opt for a BlueFit refund you’ll be able to sign up with Council for a new multi-visit pass for the Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre.

Council has agreed to honour the 6 for 6 membership holders for Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre active as at 30 June 2023 to continue to use the centre until the membership expiry date.
Members will need to attend the Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre to confirm and update their details in our system, be provided with Council’s membership terms and conditions and be issued with a new RFID membership band to access the centre.
Members will have their membership expiry date extended by a two week period in our system to compensate for the centre’s 2 week closure.
Please note:
- Members that have taken up BlueFit’s offer to utilise their 6 for 6 membership at neighbouring Hurstville Aquatic Centre can re-activate their membership at Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre if they present to the centre to confirm their details.
- Members that have received a refund from BlueFit for their 6 for 6 membership are still welcome to re-activate their 6 for 6 membership if evidence is presented at Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre that the member has paid back the membership refund to BlueFit.
All current active Foundation Members of the Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre (as of 30 June 2023) will have their historic foundation membership rates continue with Council.
All active members will be required to present to the centre’s front desk during July 2023 to confirm their details in our system, receive a copy of Council’s membership terms and conditions and be issued with a new membership RFID band to access the centre.
Members will not be charged fees during July 2023. The first fortnightly debit (payment in advance) for your membership will commence on 28 July 2023. The first direct debit will be adjusted so that you do not pay for any days in July 2023.
As part of the change of management, all direct debit memberships with former provider BlueFit have ceased.
We invite former and new members to visit the Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre to complete a membership form, be provided with Council’s membership terms and conditions, provide direct debit details and be issued with a new RFID membership band to access the centre.
Members that sign up with Council will be able to use the Angelo Anestis Centre for free from 15-31 July 2023. The first fortnightly debit (payment in advance) for your membership will commence on 28 July 2023. The first direct debit will be adjusted so that you do not pay for any days in July 2023.
The gym and fitness equipment at the centre remains the same and group fitness classes will be similar to those previously provided by BlueFit.
