Policy Background
Council has updated its Fraud and Corruption Policy which has been developed to strengthen Council’s commitment to preventing, detecting, and responding to fraud and corruption.
Council is committed to maintaining trust and building advocacy with the community and its stakeholders through a robust and vigilant fraud and corruption prevention approach.
The policy adopts a streamlined and user-friendly format and reflects best practice standards through benchmarking and recommendations from recent council audits.
The updated Fraud and Corruption Policy:
- Is aligned to the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption Act 1988
- Aligned to the Australian Standard AS8001-2008 for Fraud & Corruption Control
- Follows leading practice guidelines for the establishment and maintenance of a Fraud and Corruption Control Framework to ensure effective management of fraud and corruption risks.
