As Bayside grows, we need parks, community facilities, transport connections and stormwater infrastructure to support our community.

When new developments are approved, contributions are paid that help fund infrastructure.

Council is seeking feedback on two draft documents:

  1. Draft Bayside Local Infrastructure Contributions Plan 2026 (draft plan) - explains how much developments contribute and the types of infrastructure those contributions can help fund.
  2. Draft Local Infrastructure Contributions Policy (draft policy) - explains how Council will collect, manage and spend those contributions.

Why Are Changes Needed?

Bayside currently has seven different development contribution plans, six of these are inherited from former council areas and are being replaced by one plan and a supporting policy.

By creating a clear and consistent approach to development contributions, the draft Plan will help deliver the infrastructure needed to support Bayside’s growing community. More than $1.2 billion in projects have been identified to benefit current and future residents, workers and visitors.

* The draft plan excludes the Wolli Creek and Bonar Street Precincts Urban Renewal Area Contributions Plan 2019, as it is still fit for purpose and has been reviewed by IPART.

What's Happening Now?

Council is publicly exhibiting the draft Plan and Policy and inviting submissions.
