The Councillors' Chat Room is private and protected space to enable Councillors to create and generate discussion around key themes, issues or concepts. It is proposed that all users will sign in at a gateway and agree to the following:
Confidentiality and Privacy - Code of Practice for Online Engagement
It is critical that all Councillors comply with the below statments to ensure that online engagement is maintained and utilised ethically.
- This is a private and protected area for Councillors only and it is a condition of use that any information provided, sentiments expressed, ideas suggested or issues raised by any Councillor will not be divulged to any third party in any way and will remain private and confidential and within the confines of this chat room.
- By engaging in this Chat Room all Councillor's are agreeing to maintain the privacy and protect any information provided, sentiments expressed, ideas suggested or issues raised by any Councillor in this chat room.
- Note: both Council and the Online Engagement Provider (Bang the Table) are bound by the National Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 and by agreement between the two parties not to provide any information to any third party including information that would reveal the identity of participants unless required by law.
To create a discussion:
- click on the "add new topic" button below
- in the "add your question" text box type in your discussion topic or question and use the "summary" box to add more detail such as rationale or key points for consideration.
- to link a document to your discussion topic, scroll to the "relates to box", select "document" from the drop down box and then select the document from the dropdown list
- add a document to the library by clicking "add new" in the library widget on the right hand side, select and name the document you wish to add and click the "upload" button. (note the document should be added to the library prior to creating your new discussion topic).
