Latest Update
The Alcohol Free Zone Review 2023 was updated in response to community feedback. This matter is going before the City Services Committee Meeting on 2nd August for a determination.
Alcohol-free zones (AFZs) are designated areas where alcohol is prohibited. Zones cover public roads, footpaths, car parks and laneways and are designed to reduce disruptive and anti-social behaviour as well as alcohol-related crime to help create a safer environment for the whole community.
AFZs are regularly reviewed in line with the Ministerial Guidelines on Alcohol-Free Zones 2009.
Council has audited the AFZs in the Bayside local government area and would like your feedback on the renewal of previously designated AFZs and proposed locations to become AFZs.
