The Brighton Le Sands Parking Strategy completed in 2014 provides recommendations relating to traffic, parking, land use, public space as well as public and sustainable transport options in Brighton Le Sands.

A number of initiatives have been progressively implemented. Council is upgrading on-street parking by introducing angle parking in Teralba and Hercules Road to increase parking and improve traffic and safety.

The upgrade includes the following :

Teralba Road - 19 additional spaces; Increase to 100 car parking spaces (currently 81), an increase of 23%

Hercules Road - 8 additional spaces; increase to 44 car parking spaces (currently 36) an increase of 22%.

Works include:

  • Changing from parallel parking to 90 degree angle parking.
  • Associated linemarking and signposting
  • Rubber speed cushions for traffic calming
  • Removal of some of the existing traffic islands to facilitate the new design.
