Consultation has concluded

The Council's integrated planning and reporting suite of plans (IP&R) play a pivotal role in shaping Bayside.

Bayside 2030, is Bayside Council's 10 year Community Strategic Plan (CSP) and sits at the top of the IP&R framework. The CSP outlines community aspirations and how as a community we work together to achieve those goals. The Delivery Program (3-year plan) and Operational Plan (annual plan) transform these aspirations into core activities and deliverables. These plans are updated within the 10 year CSP cycle. You can read Bayside 2030, (CSP) here.

Long Term Financial Sustainability

As the Delivery Program and Operational Plan evolve and mature they inform long term financial sustainability and raise new opportunities and challenges. Future population growth, environmental impact, amalgamation, new technologies, uncertain economies, contingency planning for unforeseen events like COVID-19, rising costs of goods and services, ageing, renewing, and maintaining assets all place significant financial pressure on Council.

These components result in the Council facing long-term financial sustainability challenges, with a forecasted shortfall of around $124 million over the next 10 years. You can read more about these challenges here.

Prioritising and planning these challenges is integral to our long term financial sustainability for current and future generations.

What's happening now?

As we continue our journey to ensure long term financial sustainability, the ongoing conversation with the community on how to address these challenges is vital. The plans currently on exhibition outline these challenges including potential options to address financial challenges.
