Consultation has concluded

We are planning to deliver improvements for the Arncliffe Town Centre.

The work will focus on Firth Street between Wollongong and Forest Roads, and will include a portion of Queen and Belmore Streets.

We are inviting residents, local businesses and local business property owners to provide feedback on the draft plans before we get started.

What are the improvements?

  • New feature paving made of high quality granite pavers in the business precinct and honed concrete pavements
  • Widening footpaths by re-aligning the kerb, to provide a safer walkway for pedestrians
  • A feature area between Queen Street and Belmore Street with outdoor seating, decorative paving, landscaped areas and space for footpath dining.
  • Island garden beds in the parking lane of selected areas, which will include street trees
  • New street furniture, landscaping and street trees
  • A new marked pedestrian crossing at Queen Street with improved street lighting
  • New line markings, on-road cycleway markings and a bike lane for part of Firth Street
  • Some additional parallel parking at the southern end of Firth Street

When will this occur?

Construction should commence in late July or early August 2020.
